More and more companies create digital characters to sell, present products and serve customers. With the same technology, anyone can copy that face: a fake profile, an ad with your character selling something else, a scam in your company's name.
A character has no image rights like a real person. That is why protection must be built through other means: documented human authorship, trademark registration and contracts.
Assessment
We check whether the face is original or licensed, and what the tools' terms of use allow regarding commercial use and ownership.

Can I register a character created with artificial intelligence at INPI?
The name and the face can be filed as a trademark. What matters is distinctiveness and the absence of conflict with earlier marks, assessed in the clearance search.
Who is the author of a character made with AI?
Under Brazilian Law 9.610/98, an author is always a natural person. The tool is not the author: copyright protection depends on human creative contribution, which is why documenting the process is essential.
Is the avatar I bought in an app mine?
Usually not: you receive a license to use it. Before investing in the image, it is worth checking the terms and, if possible, creating an exclusive face.
Do I have to wait for the registration before publishing?
The filing already secures the priority date and helps with takedown requests. The right moment to publish is assessed case by case.
Can I use the same character in several businesses?
Yes, with registration in the right classes and license agreements for each use.
